Staniel Cay Travel Notice

TEMPORARY AIRPORT CLOSURE + TRANSFER INFORMATION

Staniel Cay Airport is scheduled to be temporarily closed to aircraft and airport operations from Monday, September 21 through Saturday, October 31, 2026 , for infrastructure improvements and upgrades. During the closure, Makers Air flights to and from Staniel Cay will operate through Black Point Airport.

WHAT TO EXPECT

FLIGHTS

All Makers Air flights arrive and depart viaBlack Point Airport, approximately 5 miles south of Staniel Cay.

BOAT TRANSFER

Transfer via Aquaquest Escapes. Approximately 15 minutes by ferry between Black Point and Staniel Cay.

FERRY FARE

$20 per person one way ($40 round trip) for Makers Air passengers and SCYC cottage guests. Pay operator directly; cash, Zelle and credit card accepted.

ARRIVING TO STANIEL CAY

Arrive via Makers Air at Black Point Airport.
Makers Air provides a complimentary golf-cart transfer from the airport to the Black Point dock for passengers and luggage.
Take the optional ferry, Aquaquest Escapes, from Black Point dock to the Staniel Cay Yacht Club dock (about 15 minutes; $20 per person/one way).
The Aquaquest Escapes ferry schedule will coordinate and coincide directly with Makers Air flight times to support connections.

DEPARTING STANIEL CAY

Meet the optional ferry, Aquaquest Escapes, at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club dock for transfer to Black Point dock (about 15 minutes; $20 per person/one way).
Upon arrival at Black Point dock, Makers Air provides a complimentary golf-cart transfer to Black Point Airport.
Check in for your Makers Air flight departing from Black Point Airport.
The Aquaquest Escapes ferry schedule will coordinate and coincide directly with Makers Air flight times to support connections.

IMPORTANT FERRY INFORMATION

The recommended ferry operator, Aquaquest Escapes, is a licensed and insured, independently owned service and is not affiliated with Makers Air. Use of the ferry is completely optional, and passengers may make their own transportation arrangements between Black Point and Staniel Cay. Ferry payment is made directly to the operator before boarding. Please arrive at the designated ferry departure point on time to ensure your connection to Black Point Airport. If the scheduled ferry is missed, passengers will need to arrange and cover the cost of alternate transportation to the airport. Makers Air is not responsible for missed ferry connections or any resulting expenses.
